After some feedback and suggestions, we decided to hold a 3-day holiday camp for the winter holiday break. We had 34 enrollments most of which were new kids but also some coming back for a bit of extra experience.
We held 3 x 2-hour classes with the aim of introducing a distilled version of a term into the 3 days. We used the camp as an opportunity to introduce and test some new subject matter e.g. plumbing and mechanics. This allowed us to see how the kids work together in connecting your typical household plumbing pipes so they could learn how water flows. We also introduced them to a 2-stroke lawn mower and demonstrating the key components of the engine and how it uses fuel to produce work, which then runs the engine.
Overall, we felt the camp was successful and we aim to run more camps during the Spring holiday break – watch this space.
